İOlé!

We’re taking another trip to Spain! In April of 2018 we embarked on a new adventure and brought two groups of club members to our hometown of Sant Carles de la Rapita for one week. The tours were so successful that we are offering them again in May of 2019.

Group #1 - 2018
Visiting the monastery and winery at Scala Dei, Priorat

Group #2 - 2018
After enjoying Paella and Exploring the Delta del Ebre

What to Expect

The tours are 7 days/6 nights. Markus and Liz Bokisch will be your hosts along with our dear friend Meme Castella Bel. We will pick you up in Barcelona and bring you to Sant Carles de la Rapita, the fishing village where Markus’s family lives and where the Bokisch family spends their summers. We will visit 3 wine regions: the Penedes (home of Spanish Cava), the Terra Alta (home of Garnacha Blanca) and the Priorat (home of dark red Garnacha). We will also visit the Delta of the Ebro and experience to the fullest the ingredients used to make paella such as rice, fish and olive oil. Our goal is to expose you to Spanish and Catalan food culture and to take you off the beaten track to places you would not normally visit or even know about! We promise there will be authentic paella, amazing food, a lot of wine and memories that you’ll never forget! The itinerary will begin and end in Barcelona and guests will make their own international flight arrangements. This will give everyone the flexibility to extend the trip.

Two Tours

In order to limit the group to 20 people, we are planning two separate tours:
Tour #1 - May 13 - May 19, 2019
Tour #2 - May 27 - June 2, 2019

If you are interested in joining us

We are opening our waiting list sign up period for our 2019 tours now through August 31, 2018. We will ask for non-refundable deposits in September  2018 with the final payment due 90 days before departure. To help us gauge the level of interest, we’re asking that you fill out our form below to let us know you are interested. You will receive an email confirmation after submitting the form. The tours are limited to Club members and we can only accommodate two spots per membership. We had an overwhelming response from our 2018 tours and we were not able to accommodate everyone and thus we cannot guarantee you will be given a spot for 2019.

Our RSVP list is closed. The deadline was August 31, 2018.

More details are coming

If you get a spot on the tour, we will send you the itinerary and give you time to respond and send in your non-refundable deposit. If you don’t hear from us by October, this will indicate that you have not obtained a spot on this year’s tour. However, you will be placed on the priority list if anyone cancels as well as the priority list for the next tour (assuming we are crazy enough to do this again in the future!)
