Clay Station Vineyard
After visiting the Rueda region of Spain where Verdejo is produced, we decided to implement some new techniques. A portion of this 2016 vintage was allowed to sit on the skins for 4 hours before going into the press after which, we let it age in stainless steel drums. We also diversified by aging in new French oak and Acacia barrels. The result is an amazingly complex wine with aromas of honey and butter on toast, white peach, white chocolate and lychee. The texture is smooth, round and luscious. It is medium-bodied with flavors of white fig, key lime pie, white plum and hints of lavender. Due to its complex nature, this wine has considerable aging potential.
