St. John's Bonfire Beauties
his 3-pack of Albariños will be a fun addition to your summer parties. Try tasting the two Terra Alta Albariños to see if you can detect a difference in vintages. Or, try the Las Cerezas Albariño next to the Terra Alta Albariño and see what terroir differences you find. Albariño is a favorite of ours because even most red wine drinkers find this is a white wine they enjoy which makes it a versatile choice.
In this pack:
2014 Albariño - Las Cerezas Vineyard
Our Las Cerezas Albariño comes from our “motherblock” of Iberian wines planted in 1999. This silty soil along the Mokelumne River tends to enhance the tropical notes of this Albarino. It is juicy and bright in the mouth and highly aromatic with notes of tangerine, honeysuckle, kiwi and almond blossoms with a lingering finish. You can taste the terroir in the glass when you compare side by side with our Terra Alta Albarino. Try it with grilled shrimp with chili lime butter!
2014 Albariño - Terra Alta Vineyard
Albariño is not only the most popular white wine of Spain, but has also carved out its territory as being one of the most exciting new varieties in California. It is known as an aromatic white wine with a crisp, clean acidity which pairs extremely well with seafood. Our Albariño is picked earlier to mimic the style of Albariño from its native area of Galicia, Spain. This thick-skinned and small berried grape has aromatics similar to a Riesling. Notes of tangerine, orange blossoms, and membrillo delight the nose. It is juicy and fruity in the mouth with flavors of pear, McIntosh apple, pink grapefruit juice and a hint of lychee.
2015 Albariño - Terra Alta Vineyard
Albarino is recognized as an aromatic white and our 2015 is true to the test. It tickles the nose with citrusy aromas of tangerine, pink grapefruit and orange zest followed by Magnolia blossoms and “Azahar,” the Spanish word for orange blossom. It is a beautiful pale platinum color with a medium weight in the mouth. Flavors of tart orange rind, kiwi and key lime pie end with a deliciously lingering finish. Enjoy with shellfish.
