A Midsummer Dream
This 6 pack of Iberian white wines contains one bottle of each of our white wines and our Rosado, Spanish for rosé. If you are just getting to know Spanish wines this will be a wonderful introduction. You will be introduced to two single vineyard Albariños. Tasting them side by side will really help to distinguish their characteristics. Each of our white wines has a loyal fan base, will you sit on the fence or pick a favorite?
This Rosado is made in a dry Spanish style from Garnacha grapes. It has a light salmon color and notes of strawberry, watermelon, pink grapefruit and hints of caramel apples. It has bright acidity and a long finish with flavors of raspberry, cranberry and strawberry ice cream. Enjoy all summer long and into the fall with grilled pork chops, appetizers or simply sip by the pool with your favorite book.
2014 Albariño - Las Cerezas Vineyard
Our Las Cerezas Albariño comes from our “motherblock” of Iberian wines planted in 1999. This silty soil along the Mokelumne River tends to enhance the tropical notes of this Albarino. It is juicy and bright in the mouth and highly aromatic with notes of tangerine, honeysuckle, kiwi and almond blossoms with a lingering finish. You can taste the terroir in the glass when you compare side by side with our Terra Alta Albarino. Try it with grilled shrimp with chili lime butter!
2014 Albariño - Terra Alta Vineyard
Albariño is not only the most popular white wine of Spain, but has also carved out its territory as being one of the most exciting new varieties in California. It is known as an aromatic white wine with a crisp, clean acidity which pairs extremely well with seafood. Our Albariño is picked earlier to mimic the style of Albariño from its native area of Galicia, Spain. This thick-skinned and small berried grape has aromatics similar to a Riesling. Notes of tangerine, orange blossoms, and membrillo delight the nose. It is juicy and fruity in the mouth with flavors of pear, McIntosh apple, pink grapefruit juice and a hint of lychee.
2014 Garnacha Blanca
Garnacha Blanca, known as Grenache Blanc in France is the white berried form of Garnacha which originated in Spain’s northeast corner. It is medium bodied and aged in a small percentage of neutral white oak barrels. It is a perfect balance of fresh fruity characters such as white peaches, orange blossom and thyme combined with smooth creamy flavors of melon and apple cider. This drought friendly grape grows fabulously in California!
Verdejo is a white wine that is originally from the Rueda region of Spain. Due to its superb qualities as a crisp aromatic white wine, today Verdejo is recognized as one of the top white varieties.
Verdelho is a Portuguese white variety that originates from the Island of Madeira and the Azores, west of the mainland of Portugal. We planted our Verdelho in the volcanic clay loam soils of the Vista Luna Vineyard in the Eastern hills of Lodi. It produces small bunches of oval berries which give it a higher skin to juice ratio
