Just finished Ann Patchett’s State of Wonder. What an amazing story and a frightful adventure on the Amazon.
But the deeper tale is the transformation of the characters, and the sacrifices that must be made. Highly recommend it.

One of my all time favorites is The Last Jew by Noah Gordon. This book is historical fiction with a dose of adventure. Set in Spain, 1492, I learned a bit about the Spanish Inquisition while enjoying a great adventure by a 15 year old boy on a journey around Spain.

I just finished A Man in the Woods by Scott Spencer. Good read! Paul and Kate seem to be the perfect couple, hunky carpenter & successful writer, living in a beautiful country house. Then Paul does something completely unexpected and the book takes a left turn…could this happen to anyone of us? How would you react given the same circumstances?
