Bokisch Vineyards

Wines in the Bokisch Vineyards label are all Iberian varietal wines. We grow our own grapes. Most wines are certified sustainable by Lodi Rules.

Bokisch Vineyards Label
Graciano 2016

This is the very first vintage we have featured Terra Alta Vineyard Graciano with a vineyard designation! The violet-blue hue is the first signal that something special awaits in the glass. The aromas hit the nose in full force with forest fruit, blackberry pie, blueberry syrup and black licorice. Flavors of dark Bing cherry, vanilla bean, blueberry and sundried apricots   linger in the mouth. Juicy sweet with a velvet finish, this wine will continue to age beautifully which is why it is often used in the blends of the Rioja region of Spain. Liz suggests pairing this wine with roasted leg of lamb with garlic and rosemary.

Garnacha 2016

If diamonds were red...that is what the brilliant red color of this incredible 2016 Garnacha would be! Beautiful aromas of homemade strawberry jam, apple peel and orange zest mix   together with hints of clove and vanilla bean. It is intense, structured and juicy with a non-linear, full-mouthfeel experience that doesn’t disappoint. Mouth watering flavors of cranberry, strawberry Life Savers, lychee and bittersweet chocolate are followed up by a hint of rose petal. This wine has medium tannins, an unctuous mouthfeel and a long finish.  Liz suggests pairing this with cherry glazed baby back ribs.

Tempranillo 2016

This is the first vintage in many years that we have highlighted Liberty Oaks Vineyard as a vineyard designated wine. It proves, once again, why Tempranillo is king of the Spanish reds! Incredible dark fruit aromas of black cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate, end with a tangy hints of dried cranberries and nutmeg. Rich, luscious, juicy dark fruit flavors of blackberry syrup and chocolate covered cherries finish with a lingering notes of mulling spices, cinnamon, and clove. It is weighty and mature with dusty tannins. This wine is drinkable now and will continue to mature and evolve in the bottle for many years. Liz suggests pairing this wine with venison or duck with a cherry red wine reduction sauce.

Albariño GAV 2017

Our 2017 Albariño has a brilliant golden straw color. It hits the nose with tropical notes of green banana, pineapple, key lime pie, fresh apricots, tangerine and citrus blossom. It has bright flavors of green apple, citrus, pineapple, tangerine, pear with a bit of a salty finish. It is medium bodied wine with a crisp acidity. This wine is absolutely perfect with seafood. Liz suggests paring this wine with a Peruvian ceviche with plenty of fresh lime juice and green chili.

Albariño TAV 2016

Our 2016 Albariño is like drinking “spring in a glass”! It is light straw in color with a tinge of green. The aromatics are incredible. Swirl in the glass and you smell orange blossoms (Azahar), Meyer lemon, Granny Smith apples, wisteria flowers and a touch of salty sea mist. It has a crisp, clean acidity that is balanced by the delicious flavors of candied tangerine, ripe kiwi, pink grapefruit and a wet slate minerality that is typical of Albariños from Galicia. It has a round lengthy finish that keeps you wishing for more. Liz suggests pairing this with fresh halibut grilled in foil with basil and tomatoes or a starter salad of oranges, avocados and fennel.

Albariño TAV 2017

Our 2017 Albariño is a gorgeous pale straw color. This wine is always a winner and you will enjoy once again the classic aromas of citrus, orange slices, ripe peach skins, mandarin, pink grapefruit , orange blossoms and green papaya. The natural acidity is balanced by the delicious flavors of grapefruit juice, lemon curd, Meyer lemon and a briny finish which remind us of the classic Albariños of Galicia. It is light to medium bodied with a long finish. Liz suggests pairing this with spicy Thai food with basil or seared ahi with wasabi allioli.

Trencadis White 2017

This 2017 Trencadis white blend is the first and inaugural vintage. It was created especially for you by our winemaker, Elyse Perry. It sports a gorgeous light golden hay color. Can we say Goldilocks? It has incredible aromas of honeysuckle, white peach, white plum and hints of banana smoothie. The flavors suggest starfruit, tropical fruit cup, honeydew melon and white nectarine. It is round and smooth with a medium body and a viscous, long finish. This wine can hold its own. Liz suggests pairing it with Kofta kabobs, Moroccan lamb tagine, and Easter Ham.

Verdejo 2017

We loved the way this 2017 turned out because (like the 2016) we decided to follow the foot-steps of the great winemakers of Rueda Spain and keep a portion of the juice to sit on the skins for four hours before going into the press. The result is an amazingly complex wine with aromas of Granny Smith apple peel, candied lemon peel, and baked pear tart that transport the senses to walking into a Parisian patisserie. It is fresh and juicy and has flavors of honeydew melon, McIntosh apple, Comice pear and ends with a spicy finish. Due to its complex nature, this wine has considerable aging potential. Liz suggest pairing this with scallops with pesto risotto or roasted pork loin with baked apples.

Garnacha 2015

Our 2015 Garnacha has the brilliant red hue of gemstones. This vineyard never fails to produce an amazingly aromatic red with such a delicate color that is a tickly tease. Notes of ripe strawberry, raspberry and cherry candy mix together with a spicy blend of anise, clove and nutmeg. The well-balanced bright acidity add to the pomegranate-like tannins and flavors of cranberry sauce, watermelon and mango. This wine has a long finish which ends with a hint of dried vanilla beans. Liz suggests pairing this with a tapa of Spanish Membrillo, Manchego and Jamon Serrano. This Garnacha will definitely be invited to the Bokisch family Thanksgiving dinner!

Monastrell 2014

The dark plum color of this Monastrell leaps from the glass! Notes of blackberry syrup, baking spices, honey mead and cocoa entice the nose. This is a luscious wine with bursting flavors of black cherry, Spanish Membrillo, ripe Mission figs and a touch of licorice. It is silky and smooth in the mouth with dusty tannins and ends with a hint of vanilla on the long finish. This is the last year of production from this petit vineyard of Belle Colline. Enjoy while you can! Liz suggests you pair this wine along with seared duck breast with preserved figs or herb roasted pork loin with roasted red pepper coulis.

Tempranillo 2014

Deep Purple. That is what meets your eye as you twirl this gorgeous wine in your glass. Aromas of Bing cherry and ripe Santa Rosa plums combine with hints of cedar smoke, sage and cocoa powder. Our 2014 Tempranillo exhibits a mélange of dark berries on the palate with dark chocolate, carob and tart raspberry plum jam. The beautifully structured tannins make this a perfect wine for aging in the Spanish tradition of Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. Enjoy now and for many years into the future! Liz suggest pairing this wine with peppercorn crusted filet mignon with wild mushrooms port sauce or a traditional whole roasted chicken seasoned with smoked paprika and preserved lemons.

Tempranillo 2015

Deep purple, rich and dark, our Tempranillo is king of the Spanish reds. The beautiful, savory aromas of smoky leather, toasted marshmallows and forest fruit end with spice box notes of cardamom, anise and black pepper. One taste will reveal full-bodied and luscious flavors of black cherry, apple butter, carob chips and savory aged tannins. This wine has an amazingly long, lingering finish. Combined with a touch of our Graciano, this wine exemplifies why it is perfect for aging in the Spanish tradition of Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. Enjoy now and for many years into the future! Trencadis Red 2015

This 2015 Trencadis red blend is the second vintage we have produced and was created especially for you by our winemaker, Elyse Perry. One look at the color will reveal its dark red nature. Aromas of fresh Santa Rosa plums and white chocolate combined with cloves, cinnamon stick, and hints of juniper berry are a delight to the nose. It has strong, gripping tannins but is velvety and smooth in the mouth with delicious fruity flavors of black cherry, blackberry syrup and candied citrus. This full bodied, silky smooth wine is a testament to the art of blending flavors and textures. Liz suggests pairing this wine with foie gras, polenta with wild mushrooms or filet mignon with a cherry and wine reduction.
